For those taking the UP LAE: Registration Process

 UP COLLEGE OF LAW

The UP LAE exam will most likely be held on November in Malcolm Hall or Bocobo Hall(the law buildings of UP). Before being eligible to take the test, you are required to fill-up the given application form that can be downloaded online(http://law.upd.edu.ph/files/LAE%20Application%20Form%202014-2015.pdf) and comply with the necessary documents asked for. The complete list of requirements can be found below.

  1. A duly accomplished REGISTRATION FORM. This can be downloaded online.
  2. Proof of payment of TESTING FEE. For early registrants, the testing fee is  P1,500.00; for late registrants, P 2,000.00.
Applicants with annual gross family income of P130,000.00 or less are exempted from payment of the testing fee (submit latest original or duly certified Income Tax Return or a BIR certification that the taxpayer is exempted from filing a Return). Postal Money order must be payable to the U.P. College of Law. Company and Personal checks are not accepted. The testing fee is non-refundable.

After submitting your application form in Malcolm Hall, you will be given a small piece of paper with your name and will be instructed to pay the testing fee at the second floor of UP Institute for Small-Scale Industries(ISSI) where the Cashier’s office is located. After paying, you have to return to Malcolm Hall to give them the receipt or the proof of payment. From Malcolm Hall to ISSI and back, you can take the UP Ikot/Toki(since it is one of the stops).

  1. Proof of graduation or senior standing. For a holder of a bachelor’s degree, he or she must submit an OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT OF RECORDS (OTR) AND GENERAL WEIGHTED AVERAGE. For a candidate for graduation of a bachelor’s degree, he or she must submit a CERTIFICATION from the Registrar of the school where the applicant is enrolled that he is a candidate for graduation for the current year and that he has completed at least 75% of the units required for his course together with a certified TRUE COPY OF GRADES AND GENERAL WEIGHTED AVERAGE in the first three years of college undergraduate work and attach a copy of the CURRICULUM. (N.B. For enrollment in the U.P. College of Law, a successful applicant must already be a baccalaureate degree holder.)
  2. For applicants who are currently enrolled in another law school, a CERTIFICATION OF GOOD STANDING and OTR.
  3. Three (3) passport size recent photos (White Background).
  4. A self-addressed stamped envelope. There is a post office inside the UP Campus(near the Shopping Center) where you can buy postage stamps. You can also buy an envelope from the Shopping Center.
  5. Other requirements as may be imposed by the Admissions Committee.

NOTE: The deadline for this year(2014) is on November 15, 2014(without fine) or November 22, 2014(with fine).
